Sharing these images on my blog has been long overdue: I photographed Sam and her gypsy cob Maestro at Bradgate Park near Newton Linford in Leicestershire before I started blogging my photoshoots last summer.
It has been such a joy to revisit these portraits as they reminded me of why I love photographing horses and their humans so much. Maestro has been with his owner Sam since he was a two-year-old over 16 years ago! He is definitely of the been-there-done-that kind - be it driving cattle or swimming in the sea, they have been on countless adventures together. The bond that these two share is truly incredible and translates into picture so easily.
Needless to say that the pair turned heads as they floated through Bradgate Park on a busy Sunday morning without a saddle or bridle.
Disclaimer: It is recommended to wear a hat whilst riding at all times. I never ask my clients to not wear a hat and solely the choice and responsibility of the ride to do so or not.
