In March I spent a whole day at MinorOak Co-working in Nottingham photographing a variety of inspiring women and business owners.
As you may remember this was not my first trip to MinorOak as I already had already photographed Dee, who runs the coworking space there. It was a pleasure to return and I could not have wished for a better location to host my first personal branding mini sessions. This type of event is aimed at micro businesses and start-ups, giving participants the chance to purchase my “Just headshots” package at half price.
I’m particularly excited that three of the participants have allowed me to share the images from the day on this blog.
Melissa | Creative Apostrophe
My first client of the day was Melissa. I was actually really excited to meet her after we had already discovered out mutual love for football and good books in our email exchange!
Melissa runs Creative Apostrophe, a media, marketing and publishing company based in the heart of Nottingham. Basically, if you are looking for someone to produce original written content, Melissa is your gal. Bringing in over two decades worth of experience in journalism, editing and publishing Melissa creates both SEO-optimised online content and freelance pieces ranging from magazine editorials to ghost-written books or memoirs.
Although Melissa swears, she is usually like the rest of us and not too keen on having a photo taken, I have to say she was a complete natural in front of the camera and despite the limited amount of time at hand we managed to get such a nice variety of personal branding images.
Kerry | Elevate SEO
I’m so proud that Kerry is letting me share her images on this blog as it was only after she saw the images that she gave me permission to do so. Like so many of us, she has no idea how photogenic she actually is and does not like having her picture taken. She only booked the session because she felt that as a start up she needed at least a photo on her website.
Kerry runs Elevate SEO and helps small businesses in the East Midlands get a head start on their online marketing. As you can imagine, this is quite a comprehensive task: Not only does Kerry have to be smarter than the Google bot to make her clients’ websites come up first when you search, but she also helps manage and maintain their blogs and social media.
Katie | Katie Holmes - Services for Charities
I loved working with Katie. She has the most infectious smile and is genuinely approachable. This kind of certainly comes in handy in her line of work: Katie helps charities and not for profit organisations run in a sustainable fashion and become stronger. With over a decade of relevant experience in the sector, she's the perfect woman for the job. Her strengths lie in managing budgets, fundraising and creating a vision and brand for small charities.
Katie’s other passion is running, which she only picked up seven years ago. She also publishes a blog sharing her own experience and the stories of other female runners.
I host one day of personal branding mini sessions every quarter. If you would like me to consider your town or host one at your venue, please get in touch.
