If you follow me on social media, you may have come across an advert for my next set of mini sessions under the motto “’twas the night before Christmas”. These 30-minute photography sessions will be taking place on Saturday, 10th of November in Loughborough.
If you are confused about what mini sessions are or don’t know whether they are the right thing for you and your family, this blog post might help. I have put together a little FAQ for you.
What is included in the price?
The mini session only costs £29 – payable in full upon booking. I will be donating £5 from every session booked to charity (more on this below). You will be able to choose a 30-minute slot on the 10th of November and the price already includes one high resolution digital and a 9x6” print of your chosen image, mounted and ready to frame. You will be able to select this image from an online gallery of around 11 to 12 fully edited images.
You will get full use of the set up which includes a number of fun activities such as
Games and pillow fights
Cookies and milk
If you wish, we can also take a few candid family photos outside the set up as you may also wish for a few non-seasonal images that can be displayed in your home year-round.
Can I purchase more images?
Of course! I deliberately kept the number of images included in the session low in order to be able to offer the best price possible and taking into consideration than some families may wish to only have one Christmas portrait. However, if you love the whole gallery, you can of course purchase more images. I will be offering the following packages at heavily reduced mini sessions prices.
Five high resolution digitals as download
Five 9x6” mounted prints matching your chosen digitals
Full gallery as high resolution digitals on a USB stick
Full gallery as 9x6” mounted prints
£50 credit towards wall art
£25 credit towards your next full session with me
Professionally printed Christmas cards
Pack of 10
Who is the mini session for?
I often describe mini sessions as either “taster sessions” or “refresher sessions”.
If you have never met me before or perhaps never even had a family photoshoot before, then a mini session will provide you with a taste of my full photography service. Usually I plan with one or two hours for a family session, longer if we need to take breaks, so a thirty-minute photoshoot will result in a smaller gallery. However, they are a great opportunity if a photoshoot is something you and the kids enjoy, or to find out whether you like my style of working.
Previous clients, on the other hand, may see the mini sessions as a refresher. Your kids have grown quite a bit since your last session with me? Are you only be after an image to put on this years Christmas card? The mini session provides the perfect opportunity to update the family portrait without booking in for another full session!
Can I bring my parents/niece/neighbour?
In terms of family size, I don’t have too many rules. I get that some families are larger, you may want an image of the cousins together or your child is currently not going anywhere without their best friend. However, if you plan to bring more than 5 people, I will ask you to book two consecutive slots due the limited size of the set up and the time it takes to pose and direct larger groups. Dogs are more than welcome, I can’t get enough of pup cuddles!
Who is the recipient of the donation?
Last month I asked my Facebook audience to suggest charities that would benefit from my Christmas donation. It wasn’t easy to pick and choose so I ended up shortlisting two charities:
The Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation supports the elderly, persons with disabilities and the most lonely and vulnerable people in Leicestershire.
The Brooke supports donkeys and working equines around the world, particularly in developing countries, where these hardworking animals are often the backbone of their humans’ livelihood.
The best part is: You decide who you want to be on the receiving end of your money! If you don’t specify or can’t decide, I will split the donation equally between the two.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
