In August, I had the honour to capture Laura’s and Gareth’s intimate register office wedding in Newark, Nottinghamshire. They made the last minute decision to book a photographer to cover their ceremony, group images and candids of their small wedding party that consisted mostly of family and friends, but I’m so glad I still happened to be available for the date and made the short trip down the road to Newark!
Laura had advised me to take lots of candid images of her wedding guests before and after the ceremony and I particularly loved following the daughter of the bride and groom around with my camera. Izzy is so full of energy and as I noticed made everyone around her smile.
The ceremony was short but sweet and featured readings from several of the couple’s closest people, including - of course - their daughter Izzy.
As their wedding was planned to be unconventional anyway and Laura didn’t dancy wearing white, she opted for an elegant knee-length dress in black. The matching floral ornaments in her hair and on her wrist rounded off he summer look, but my favourite bit was her smile: It was so wonderful to observe how she just couldn’t stop smiling and laughing throughout the ceremony.
The register office in Newark is adjacent to the gorgeous Newark Castle and Gardens, making this an unusually stunning location civil weddings and whilst we did not have a lot of time, I particularly enjoyed whisking Laura and Gareth away from their wedding party for a few couple images.
Thank you so much for sharing your special day with me, Laura & Gareth - I wish you all the best for the future!
